Position Description: Site Director, Ireland Campus
Center for Irish Cultural Studies

Reports to:
Director, Center for Irish Cultural Studies

Special Working Conditions:
Position based in Dingle, Ireland.  Evening and weekend hours required.  Travel required within Ireland and to the U.S.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of the Dingle, Ireland campus and the delivery of all educational programs offered at the site.
  • Contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives for delivery at both the Ireland and U.S. campuses.
  • Contribute to meeting all enrollment goals for the Center's programs.
  • Maintain a balanced budget.
  • Coordinate faculty coverage for all courses.
  • Create course schedules and syllabi for courses and provide support to faculty as needed.
  • Collaborate with Academic Director on course and program development.
  •  Identify appropriate field trips, guest lectures, tours and excursions to complement courses and coordinate logistics of such experiential learning opportunities.
  • Plan appropriate co-curricular opportunities to address students' social needs and cultural development and ensure the efficient delivery these programs.
  • Secure appropriate housing for student cohorts and faculty as needed.  Act as liaison with housing provider.
  • Address students' concerns in a proactive and professional manner.
  •  Maintain appropriate and consistent communication with Director of CICS,  SHU Academic Director and Diseart Academic Director.
  • Contribute to recruitment and marketing both in Ireland and the U.S. including communication with prospective students.
  • Track program expenses and monitor budget

Qualifications:

Required:
Bilingual in Irish and English
Strong customer-service orientation and philosophy
Bachelor's degree

Preferred:
Knowledge of the Dingle Peninsula
Master's degree
Work experience at a third-level institution or a U.S. university
Academic background in an area of Irish Studies such as history, theology, or literature
